- Profile
The lyric ‘a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll’ could have been written about powerhouse singer-songwriter Dahlia Wakefield. With a unique voice capable of interesting complexity and the ability to sing multi-genres, Dahlia is a hard working full time musician with many bands – from solo act, duo to 7 piece.
Dirt Road Angels (original country/rock), Dahlia & The Villains (4 piece variety cover band – pop, rock, country covering many decades), The Dahlia & Alan Duo (variety – covers & originals), Brigade (Heart Tribute band), Kerosene (80s to now hard rock cover band) and SHOCKER (80s metal cover band). She also sings solo at retirement homes. In addition to releasing three solo albums, she has also released three albums as part of the country/rock group Dirt Road Angels, a group which has shared the stage with Colin Raye, Aaron Tippin, Brett Kissel, and Sammy Kershaw among others. Dahlia has also been a guest vocalist on many recordings for many artists such as Zackaria, Stirling John, Liquid Blue Fire, Marv Machura and more! She has also been a promoter, agent, and mentor to various successful acts, making her known as “the hardest working woman in show business in Edmonton”. As if that wasn’t enough, she is a beginner piano coach and vocal coach having graduated from the Grant MacEwan Music Program with Distinction. Dahlia’s musical influences are vast and includes all genres and time periods. Dahlia’s rich, powerful voice and eclectic style allows her music to fit comfortably into almost any play-list or program. Currently Dahlia Wakefield is working on recording a brand new rootsy pop/rock album, and her first single off that album is called “Queen of Overthinking”, released on November 4th!
