CCIA provides industry-led, producer-focused solutions for livestock traceability in Canada by delivering identification services that support compliance with government regulations. As a Responsible Administrator, CCIA manages the Canadian Livestock Traceability System (CLTS) for regulated species—cattle, bison, sheep, and pending regulations; goats and cervids, while offering guidance and resources to educate users.
CCIA also sells approved and tested livestock indicators (tags) accompanied by the proper applicators to improve retention. Working with manufacturers, CCIA ensures that these products meet quality and traceability standards, making it easier for producers to process livestock efficiently and accurately
